For Venaris, the camera brand is less important than whether you can reliably access the images.
Venaris is designed to be manufacturer-independent. The key question is not the camera brand, but whether you can access the images. This can work through SD card, manual upload, app download, FTP, SMTP/email or other import paths.
No. FTP or SMTP are useful when images should be transferred automatically. For getting started, manual upload can be enough. The more open the image access is, the easier automated operation becomes.
Yes. If you can export images from an SD card, an app or a folder, you can generally bring them into Venaris manually.
Yes. That is one of the core ideas behind Venaris. You should not have to think in separate camera apps. Images from different sources can be analyzed together.

AI image analysis
Venaris uses AI as a reviewable pre-structure for large image volumes — not as an unquestionable truth.
Venaris first makes a broad assessment of a trail-camera image: Is the image empty, or does it show people, vehicles or animals? Wildlife analysis focuses on animal images. Those images are then assigned to a probable species.
Yes. Empty images or non-relevant triggers can be identified early so they do not dominate your later analysis. Not every triggered image is a relevant wildlife event.
Venaris can broadly classify whether images show people, vehicles or animals. For wildlife analysis, animal images are the focus. People and vehicles do not belong in the wildlife analysis.
Recognition works with probabilities. Clear images with good light and a useful angle are easier to classify than night shots, hidden animals, long distances or motion blur. That is why results remain reviewable and correctable.
Yes. Manual correction is an important part of reliable analysis. If you correct a species, later analysis should use the corrected information — not the original AI suggestion.
Privacy
Trail-camera data can be sensitive. Camera placement, image direction and access rights matter from the start.

PopSim is a model-based approach for deriving a more grounded picture of wildlife populations from events, usage patterns and wildlife-biological assumptions. It does not replace field observation, but it can help interpret existing image data in a more structured way.
