Direct file upload

Connect a trail camera to Venaris via FTP

FTP-capable trail cameras can upload images automatically to a server. For Venaris this is one of the cleanest integration routes because no manual app or cloud forwarding is required.

When is this route useful?

FTP scales well for larger camera fleets: configure server, destination and credentials once, then let new captures arrive automatically.

Setup

Four steps to analysis

  1. 01

Create the camera in Venaris and use the designated FTP ingest endpoint.

  2. 02

Enter server address, port and credentials in the camera.

  3. 03

Use encrypted transport such as FTPS where the camera supports it.

  4. 04

Send a test capture and verify correct camera recognition in Venaris.

Then Venaris takes over

Captures become events and wildlife data.

After ingestion, Venaris separates image noise from wildlife captures, classifies animal images probabilistically and groups related bursts into events. Image analysis is not metered with additional Venaris credits per photo.
